Priyanka Chopra Jonas channels her inner desi girl, sports her mangalsutra and sindoor with dresses

For Indians, the signs that a woman is married, is that she needs to wear a mangalsutra around her neck and vermillion or sindoor on her forehead. Every Hindu woman is expected to wear this post their wedding no matter their culture, state, wealth, etc. Actress Priyanka Chopra who tied the knot with Nick Jonas last year, proved that she is no different! She constantly wears her mangalsutra and sindoor no matter what outfit she is wearing!

On her 37th birthday which she celebrated in Miami, the actress donned a sparkly red mini dress. But with it, she also sported sindoor on her forehead starting a huge new trend for Indian woman living abroad!

But that wasn't the only time that PeeCee gave a desi twist to her outfit. She has done it multiple times! 

Immediately after her wedding, PeeCee delved back into work. But since she still had henna on her hands, the actress decided to take the desi route when it came to accessorising with her dressed. 

She opted for a pink dress and her hair was styled into lose curls. In the centre parting of her hair, she wore deep red sindoor and since her dress featured a plunging neckline, her diamond mangalsutra was on full display!

At the second event too, PeeCee donned a sparkly rainbow coloured striped maxi dress which also featured a plunging neckline. This time around too, she didn't hesitate to show off her mangalsutra and sindoor forehead despite her hair being pulled back into a lose bun. 

Not just at events, even while travelling, she puts her mangalsutra on full display. She sported it confidently over her tan ribbed tshirt and pleated skirt while at the airport, making it cool airport style as well! 

Another time that the actress sported her mangalsutra in a more subtle way, was at the celebration of completing her upcoming Bollywood film The Sky Is Pink. The actress donned a crisp white shirt dress that she colourblocked with yellow mesh boots. The dress came with a plunging neckline which showed off her sparkly diamond mangalsutra in the most subtle way, without making it stand out too much! 

The actress is truly setting some goals for all Indian women residing abroad. Since she has been sporting her sindoor and mangalsutra with every outfit with is not desi in the least bit, more women are getting inspired to channel their inner 'Desi girl' and step out in their most desi avatars and be proud of it!
