Princess Diana wore a number of notable outfits during her time. She soon became not just a fashion icon but also an inspiration for women all over the world. Her outfit choices were scrutinized and constantly recreated but never left the same impact Diana's original outfits did.
A few of the Princess' garments are up for auction including her most famous dress - the off-shoulder blue evening gown by Victor Edelstein that she wore while dancing with John Travolta at the White House back in 1985.

While she wore the dress on multiple occasions, it is mostly remembered for the time she wore it while dancing with Travolta where the actor spun the Princess across the dance floor to the music of his own film Saturday Night Fever. The dress is part of Kerry Taylor's Auctions upcoming Passion for Fashion auction and is expected to be auctioned off for 250,000 to 350,000 pounds or 325,000 to 450,000 dollars!

The actor even spoke about the experience in a 2007 interview to a Dutch television station - Een. "I didn't know or expect to dance with Princess Diana," the actor said and also mentioned that it was the president's wife Nancy Regan's wish for the dance to happen! "At midnight, I had to tap on her shoulder and I had to say, 'Would you care to dance'. She turned around and dipped her head in that Lady Diana way and we were off for 15 minutes dancing. I'll never forget it," said Travolta who also said he was honoured to have experienced it and was her favourite moment!

It was certainly a moment in history worth remembering!
