MET Gala: Throwback to Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone’s stunning looks from last year

MET Gala is here!! The most glamourous and fashion loaded night of the here is almost here and fans are losing their minds. MET Gala has over the years has extremely intriguing, interesting and mind-blogging themes. This year by far has to the most controversial one. The 2018 theme will focus on "fashion and religion" (two of the most sensitive themes put together). It has been said that the topic was chosen since many major designers such as John Galliano and Riccardo Tisci have been referencing religion in their collections. The glamorous fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute is held annually on the first Monday of May.
While we wait with bated breath to see what Priyanka and Deepika will wear to this year’s gala; here’s a quick throwback to last year’s looks.
Priyanka Chopra
Starting with our desi girl, Priyanka Chopra certainly took a gamble with an unusual, over-sized trench coat style Ralph Lauren ensemble – but it paid off as she bossed the red carpet. Also, fun fact- Her trench coat dress is the longest trench coat of the world! Way to make a statement PeeCee. For hair and makeup, she wore her hair in a top knot and metallic eyes with brown lips. Silver statement holographic style earrings finished her look. We love how she added those boots for footwear.
Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone picked a rather vanilla look as she wore looked gorgeous in a backless, silk, ivory slip dress style gown by Tommy Hilfiger. The gown also had a plunging neckline. She accessorised the look with dangling diamond earrings. When it comes to her hair, DP styled it in a sleek centre parting and accessorised it to perfection with an embellished hair accessory which created the illusion of a headband. It was very Blair Waldorf meets Deepika Padukone. For makeup, Deepika accentuated her eyes with a winged liner. She went the nude lips route to balance the entire look.
