Met Gala 2019: Serena Williams opts for sneakers over stilettos with her Versace dress
The tennis star took a different direction with her look by opting for yellow Nike kicks as opposed to stilettos for the prestigious event's pink carpet.
The co-chair of the MET Gala, Serena Williams came dressed in a yellow Versace gown for the event. The 37-year-old arrived on the pink carpet alongside her husband Alexis Ohanian and looked gorgeous by even giving her outfit a sporty twist!
Serena's neon yellow dress also featured pink and yellow butterflies stitched on the bodice of her gown intricately, making her look graceful and pretty for the event. Her dress that flared out into a large skirt was cinched at the waist and had exaggerated sleeves. She kept her accessories to a minimum by opting for a large diamond watch, ring and drop diamond earrings which completed her look. She stood out from the crowd by leaving her heels at home and opting for sneakers instead! A pair of Nike x Off White sneakers were her shoes of choice.
Williams is known for rocking sneakers instead of heels with her gowns - so much so that, she even opted for a pair of white sneakers with silver embellishments, that she wore with her wedding gown!
We think Williams looked absolutely fabulous in her spring-inspired outfit. Her hair was pulled back and crimped into a low bun while bold brows, nude lips and blush cheeks completed her look for the event that she co-chaired alongside Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Alessandro Michele and Anna Wintour.
