Kareena Kapoor Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan: Best & Worst Dressed at Sonam-Anand’s wedding reception

Finally!! Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja are now a married couple. The couple got hitched yesterday on May 8th in a traditional Sikh wedding. Last night, the two hosted a grand reception party for all the B-Town friends. From Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Saif Ali Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, to name a few, the event had the whole of Bollywood come together under one roof.  While our beautiful newly wed Sonam, opted for Anamika Khanna, it sure did look like that most of the Bollywood beauties favoured and turned up wearing the glamourous Manish Malhotra. With the reception party being a highly star studded affair, it leads us to the best and worst dressed of the event held last night.

It came as no surprise that the gorgeous newly wed chose to wear an Anamika Khanna look for her reception. Her look included a long sleeve top, which was paired with a Chevron striped lehenga and an organza cape. Layered necklaces, a red lip and poker straight hair rounded her look out.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Manish Malhotra

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan along with husband Abhishek Bachchan. She wore a pastel pink heavily embroidered anarkali by Manish Malhotra that she paired with a matching dupatta. A pair of dangling earrings by Anmol Jewellers, simple hair and a dark lip rounded her look out.

Kangana Ranaut in Gaurang Shah

The beauty ditched her trusted designers, she wore a handwoven saree from her personal closet - which was a Gaurang Shah saree gifted to her by her sister. The dusty pink and gold saree was styled with a choker necklace, earrings and poker straight hair.

A glossy lip and gold jootis rounded her look out. We love head to toe!

Alia Bhatt in Sabyasachi

Alia Bhatt  looked pretty in a chartreuse lehenga by Sabyasachi that she paired with a choker necklace and a mang-tika. Simple hair and clean makeup rounded her look out. Love the unusual colour and she carries it off pretty well. It probably was our favorite look of the night.

Kareena Kapoor Khan in Manish Malhotra

Kareena Kapoor Khan joined her husband Saif Ali Khan as they came to wish the newly wed couple at their reception. Bebo wore a gold look by Manish Malhotra which included a V neck choli, an embellished column lehenga skirt and a net dupatta which she wore to mimic a saree palla. No jewellery and simple hair rounded her look out. I like that she wore something sexy to show off her body, but the entire look felt a little dated and not her style. We had higher expectations from her. Are you a fan of the look?

Katrina Kaif in Manish Malhotra

Katrina Kaif was in attendance at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Abuja’s reception. She chose to wear a beige lehenga with red floral sequins embroidery, that she paired with a matching red dupatta by her trusted designer Manish Malhotra. Cascading curls, a ruby necklace and muted makeup rounded her look out.

Mira Rajput in Anamika Khanna

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput were also in attendance for the Sonam - Anand wedding reception. Mira wore a fusion look by Anamika Khanna, which included a crop top, a pair of black wide legged pants and an organza embroidered drape across her body, which was cinched at the waist with a belt. A choker necklace, smokey eyes and side swept hair rounded her look out. Love!

Janhvi Kapoor in Manish Malhotra

Janhvi Kapoor was all sparkles in her Manish Malhotra gown. She wore a baby blue sequined choli and lehenga which was teamed with a ruffle detail dupatta. A pair of earrings and simple hair rounded her look out. I do love the simple styling and the restraint she showed with the jewelry, but I wish the dupatta was simple and not ruffled.

Juhi Chawla in Sabyasachi

Juhi Chawla along with husband Jay Mehta came in to congratulate Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja at their wedding reception. Juhi wore a baby pink, layered Anarkali by Sabyasachi that she paired with matching tassel detail dupatta. A pair of dangling earrings, hair tied up in a lose ponytail and simple make up rounded her look out. Lovely!

Rani Mukherjee in Sabyasachi

Rani Mukerji came in to congratulate the newly weds Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja at their wedding reception tonight. She donned another Sabyasachi outfit that included a gold blouse, matching beaded skirt and a dupatta. Simple hair, a pair of earrings and chunky bracelets rounded her look out. While she looked nice, we think it was a lil OTT for a wedding reception.

Karisma Kapoor in Manish Malhotra

The stunning Karisma Kapoor looked beautiful in an ivory Manish Malhotra saree with a thick muted golden sequins border. She teamed her saree with a silver sequins blouse with floral applique on it. Silver dangler earrings, a silver clutch, centre parted hair and minimal makeup finished off her look.

Kajol in Manish Malhotra

Kajol served us a simple yet pretty look wearing a half and half metallic saree by Manish Malhotra. Muted bronze danglers, open beach wavy hair, heavy eyes and nude lips rounded off her look.

Shilpa Shetty Kundra

The gorgeous Shilpa Shetty Kundra looked breathtakingly beautiful and surely one of the best dressed of the night wearing an ice blue Tarun Tahiliani saree. We love how effortlessly chic she had draped it. Heavy jadau neckpiece and matching earrings, open beach wavy hair and a fresh face of makeup punctuated the look.

Gauri Khan in Tarun Tahiliani

Gauri Khan walked in hand in hand with her husband Shah Rukh Khan. She donned a brown and black graded sequins Tarun Tahiliani outfit. Silver danglers with brown undertone makeup finished off her look. Although she sure did look pretty, the colour looked a little odd on her.

Madhuri Dixit Nene in Manish Malhotra

The evergreen Madhuri Dixit Nene looked flawless in a floor length ivory white sequins Manish Malhotra ensemble. Hair left open with light curls, golden chandbalis and pink lips finished off her look.

Khushi Kapoor in Manish Malhotra

Another one who dressed up in Manish Malhotra was Sridevi’s daughter Khushi Kapoor. Khushi looked pretty in a statement coral pink Manish Malhotra outfit which featured heavy sequins and feathered details. Centre parted hair with filled in brows with brown lips and silver danglers finished off her look.

Athiya Shetty in Rahul Misra

Athiya Shetty too was in attendance at the wedding reception looking beautiful in a Rahul Misra creation. Her ivory white lehenga had elaborate embroidery on it with a matching sheer dupatta. Jadau neckpiece and earrings, hair tied in a low bun a minimal makeup finished off her look.
