Janhvi Kapoor and Kajol wear red sarees to an awards event : Yay or Nay?

The 2019 DadaSaheb Phalke Awards were held in Mumbai last night and the event felicitates the best from various walks in life, including Bollywood. The event was held by Janhvi Kapoor, Kajol, Ishaan Khattar and Aditi Rao Hydari, amongst others. We had two major saree moments from the event last night where Kajol and Janhvi Kapoor, both ended up wearing sarees to the event. While Janhvi wore an all red look, Kajol's red half of the saree was balanced out with the contrast white lace fabric.

Janhvi looked lovely in a red saree, which was a custom made creation from her designer friend, Manish Malhotra. The design of the saree was relatively simpler as it only had a gold, embroidered border running along the sides of the saree. The saree was teamed with a matching, sleeveless blouse. The look was styled with a two tiered, emerald green necklace from Amrapali. While the saree was simple and could have been ageing on her, I like that she wore it with a sleeveless blouse and then wore her hair in a cute braid, which immediately made the look age appropriate for her.

Kajol wore a saree from Shivan and Narresh's newest collection. The saree was a half and half where the skirt part of it was all red with a printed panel and the pallu across her body was made of a white floral, lace fabric with pearl embellishments. The saree was teamed with a matching red blouse and she styled her look with an emerald green necklace and hair worn poker straight.

Of the two, I love Janhvi's look more. You?
