EXCLUSIVE: Cannes 2019: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's stylist reveals her inspiration behind the gold Mermaid gown

Cannes Film Festival is one of the most glamorous events of the year. The star studded event experiences glam and glitz to a whole new level. The prestigious event is attended by the who’s who of the global film industry where the Bollywood diva and Cannes veteran Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been a regular attendee.

With looks that could kill, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has never failed to surprise us with her fashion game. Most of her looks have earned a solid A from the fashion enthusiasts over the world. From her princess moment at the Cannes 2017 red carpet to her butterfly inspired gown in 2018, she has always been on top of her fashion game.

While these looks have surely received a lot of appreciation, she turned hundreds of heads in the mermaid inspired holographic gown this year. The gown featured asymmetrical details which was fresh and new compared to her previous looks. While the ultra-glamorous diva walked the red carpet, we confided in her stylist - Aastha Sharma to spill the beans about the inspiration behind her bold yet different choice for the red carpet.

When asked, Sharma quoted, ‘For 5th year with Aishwarya, I wanted her to catch lights, in all real sense. JLS (Jean-Louis Sabaji Couture) did just that and fabulously. After a brief discussion with the couturier, we decided on the heavily textured embossed hologram cut in into a structured asymmetrical gown. The six layered train was added for the elaborate glamour, making the fish cut gown all the more edgier. The high colour changing foiled leather, structured shoulder sleeve, the sexy neckline, it all synced in just perfect. It was just right balance of oomph and edge. Exactly what I wanted for the best, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.’

Clearly, it was the best as Rai Bachchan glided the red carpet looking absolutely perfect. TBH, we were clearly a fan of the look as it contained the perfect amount of drama and experimentation. Looking at all her looks, we definitely know that we can count on Aastha for some ultra stunning and glamorous ensembles on the red carpet.
