DVF tapped Nathan Jenden to replace Jonathan Saunders as new chief design officer
DVF's new chief design officer has been announced and it is none other than Nathan Jenden, who will be marking his return with the brand
Loved and worn by many celebrities DVF was founded by Diane von Furstenberg in 1972. Renowned for its iconic wrap dress and signature prints, DVF now offers a full collection of ready-to-wear and accessories and has established itself as a leader of feminine silhouettes in the fashion industry. Recently there was a sudden news that DVF's chief creative officer Jonathan Saunders would be resigning.
Previously speaking of Jonathan Saunders, Diane von Furstenberg had once said- "Jonathan's extraordinary passion for colours and prints, his effortless designs and his desire to make women feel beautiful to make him the perfect creative force to lead DVF into the future. I could not have found a cooler, more intelligent designer and I cannot wait to watch him shine as our chief creative officer." Hence, the company has now tapped Nathan Jenden to fill the role of chief design officer and vice president, creative. This marks Jenden's return to the brand, where he worked for ten years until 2011.
“I want to make great clothes that resonate with women,” said Jenden, Business of Fashion reports. “I see DVF as being more relevant today than it ever was in its message of self-empowerment while being dynamic and modern. I want to give the DVF girl what she wants when she wants it, and with the joie de vivre and sense of purpose that epitomises Diane, DVF the brand and the spirit of women today.”
Nathan Jenden is already at work and his new collection will be showcased in February during Fall/Winter 2018 fashion week. Hence, the DVF girl will not have to wait anymore.
