Dolce & Gabbana’s Shanghai Fashion Show CANCELLED, here’s why
Diet Prada leaks controversial chats with Stefano Gabbana over racist Chinese ad
Word has spread and the fire has come down heavily on Italian fashion house, Dolce & Gabbana. The iconic luxury house found itself embroiled in a “lot” (and we mean, a LOT) of controversy and according to the latest word, their show has been cancelled. Yes, you heard that right. D&G were all slated to showcase their fashion show tonight in Shanghai, China, but given the fiery outrage from Chinese and people worldwide, the show has been cancelled.
It all started when Dolce & Gabbana started their campaign in China with the hashtags #DGLovesChina and #DGTheGreatShow. They then took to the Asian country’s largest social media platform Weibo and shared a video which didn’t go down well with the Chinese. It featured stereotypical Asian models who were trying to eat Italian food like pizza, pasta and cannolis with their traditional chopsticks. If you thought this was it then you’re mistaken, because further on in the video, the male narrator asks the Asian model, “Is it too huge for you?”

Things turned sour and ugly for the Italian house when Stefano Gabbana got involved in a messy conversation with Diet Prada and the latter leaked their conversation. Adding another twist to the tale was when Dolce & Gabbana’s official Instagram handle took to the social media site to post that their accounts were hacked. In the wake of all the developments and the pressure and backlash from the audiences, Dolce & Gabbana decided to cancel their much awaited Shanghai Fashion Show.
This one is a major setback for the fashion house and its definitely going to take a LOT from the house in order to make up.
