Deepika Padukone's favourite Sabyasachi’s latest collection makes us want to get married RN
Sabyasachi's latest campaign will give you all the traditional vibes
Sabyasachi is ‘the’ legit dream designer for every girl who visualises herself as a bride. The NIFT graduate is famous for sewing tradition with Indian handicrafts. Its majorly the way he presents us his creations in an aesthetically pleasing painted canvas which instantly soothes the eye. While fashion enthusiasts drooled over his designs and campaigns, it was Anushka Sharma's breathtakingly beautiful wedding lehenga which made the entire country fall in love with his designs. The soft pastel hue of her ensemble with the contemporary traditional jadau jewellery is the perfect example of how a modern bride sees herself.
Mukherjee launched his new couture line, "Kesribai Pannalal" on Instagram recently and boy, we were bowled over. The design maestro sticking true to his style oozed out Indian culture and traditions in his intricately crafted creations. The entire campaign was shot in the historically rich Samode Palace, Jaipur, Rajasthan. The colour palette ranged from rusted maroons to royal blues to the vibrant pinks and the forever classic reds. The outfits feature elaborate zardozi and heavy floral embroidery.

Sabyasachi while unveiling his collection wrote, “Not long ago, much before the advent of the internet, indigenous crafts and textiles were traded by family-run businesses. Most of them had little or no access to global markets and technology. Spanning several generations, these businesses might not have been great at marketing themselves, but due to a specialization of labour and skills, they managed to uphold purist tradition and unparalleled quality of craft. With the onslaught of the new digital age, quality soon became secondary to marketing and tradition was muscled out by globalization. But things with deep-rooted foundations die temporary deaths, only to return stronger than ever. India is witnessing that now. More and more brands are celebrating purist indigenous crafts, embracing the pride and idealism of family-run businesses of yore and striving for excellence in a country corrupted by the quick market opportunities that technology provides.”
We are absolutely in love with his latest collection. What are your thoughts? Comment below and let us know.
