Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are happily man and wife now. The good-looking couple got married in an intimate wedding in Lake Como, Italy. It was such a beautiful sight to see the much in love duo tie the knot not once but twice according to the Konkani and Sindhi rituals respecting each other’s cultures. The newly turned Mr and Mrs got married on November 14th and 15th respectively.

I think we all know how desperately we were all waiting for their first wedding photos refreshing their official Instagram pages just hoping for one glimpse. Well, our prayers were answered and last evening the couple shared two photos from their two lavish weddings and melted our hearts. While we were all going “awww” looking at the pictures, we couldn’t stop gushing and obsessing over their stunning Sabyasachi ensembles. When you’re as influential and followed as Ranveer and Deepika then everything that you do automatically becomes a huge thing.

Deepika Padukone looked absolutely stunning in both her weddings. She was a minimal and traditional Konkani bride on Day 1 of the festivities. The 32-year old stuck to a traditional red and gold silk saree and heavy jadau jewellery. It was, however, her second appearance that we believe are going to be major breakthrough trends in the coming wedding season.

Sholkas embroidered on the chunari

For starters, we couldn't take our eyes off her stunning chunari which had holy shlokas embroidered in pure gold on it. The shloka read, “Sada saubhaagyavati bhav” which translates to “stay blessed and married forever”. We definitely think that this trend is going to be a major favourite amongst the in-laws who’ll be gifting the chunari to their future daughter-in-law.

Jhalar lace

Sabyasachi has always openly showcased his love for laces and his recent collections are proof. This one in particular on Deepika’s chunari really stood out. We also see the same lace on the hem of the dupatta that Ranveer is carrying with his ensemble.

Rectangular shaped engagement rings

We all know that girls are extremely particular about their most special ring, their engagement ring. Usually, we see brides-to-be opting for a sparkling round diamond ring, but Padukone and Singh went a step ahead and opted for a rectangular diamond ring placed in a platinum band.

Heavy smokey eyes and muted lips

Gone are the days when brides opted for extremely loud makeup, now is the time to play to your strengths and go subtle. Like the Padmavat actress, opt for a beautiful shade of nude lips and heavy smokey eyes.

Kanjeevaram sherwani

Well, the groom set some trends too. Usually, our dulhas go the easy and minimal way but trust Ranveer Singh to set some major fashion statement. He opted for a red kanjeevaram sherwani with dusted golden paisley motifs all over it. Mr. Singh teamed his attire with chains of jewels and a red and golden saafa.

I truly believe that these two have let major love goals for the entire nation and some huge break-through trends for the coming wedding season. Like Anushka Sharma made pastels a thing last year during her wedding to the Captain of the Indian Cricket Team, Virat Kohli.
