Popular actress and pop star, Ariana Grande has always been in the news for all the right reasons. however, this time around Grande has topped the charts because of a lawsuit.
That’s right! Ariana Grande filed a lawsuit against the Fashion retailer and beauty company, Forever 21 for USD 10 million for using her look-alike and piggy-backing off her fame to sell their products.
According to Reuters, in a complaint filed on Monday, Grande said, ‘Forever 21 and Riley Rose misappropriated her name, image, likeness and music, including by employing a “strikingly similar” looking model, in a website and social media campaign early this year.’
“The resemblance is uncanny,” the complaint said.
According to Ariana’s complaint, Forever 21 and Riley Rose misappropriated at least 30 images and videos. Which also includes using audio and lyrics from her recent No. 1 single “7 Rings,” further by using the look-alike model to star in it.
Talking about this topic, a popular Instagram account, Diet Prada also rose up to share a few snippets of the ‘uncanny resemblance’. They also shared a few other snapshots of celebrities like Kim Kardashian West faced the same issues a while back.
Responding to all this, the company replied, “Forever 21 does not comment on pending litigation as per company policy, that said, while we dispute the allegations, we are huge supporters of Ariana Grande and have worked with her licensing company over the past two years. We are hopeful that we will find a mutually agreeable resolution and can continue to work together in the future.”
