Fashion Report : Sonam Kapoor at Cannes 2016

Sonam Kapoor is back from Cannes and we have definitely a lot to talk about. The actress had an amazing run this year where she wowed us in so many looks.

Time to take a fashion recap at her major looks from Cannes 2016.

Sonam has been attending the Cannes Film Festival for 6 years now and the actress always tries to promote Indian designers while she's there. She wore a few Indian designers and our favorite look was her sculpted saree by Rimzim Dadu that she wore for press interviews. Her saree was styled with a chic bun and gorgeous Suhani Pittie earrings.

Her first major look at Cannes red carpet this year had us picking our jaws from the floor. Her white custom made Ralph and Russo Couture design, that had an endless train was how it should be for Cannes - grand, memorable and dramatic.

The following day, she shot for L'oreal's new campaign in another Ralph and Russo Couture dress that had a plunging V neckline.

Her next look was a blush pink strapless gown - again by Ralph and Russo - that had a gorgeous floral floor sweeping cape. A floral neckpiece and a sleek bun rounded her look out.

Post that, she attended the Chopard party wearing another RR Couture look that was a strapless black gown that had a big sheer ruffled skirt. Black lace gloves and a Chopard choker rounded her look out.

Her last look was for the amFAR  gala where she also made her AmfAR debut. I was really hoping that she would atleast go Indian for one occasion but all my dreams were crushed when I saw Sonam wear another Ralph and Russo gown.  Her pale blue and gold embroidered gown with a train (again!) was given an Indian touch via her Kalyan Jewellers jhumkas and messy braid.

She really had a flawless run. However, it did leave me wanting for more. She's such a fashion girl, who always does interesting things on the carpet - where it was her Anamika Khanna looks from the previous years to the Jean Paul Gaultier in her debut year to even the blue Ralph and Russo last year and the Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla look at the Chopard party last year.

My only complaint is I wish she had given us a variety of looks since all of them were done by R&R. A different silhouette, a cocktail dress on the red carpet, a couture jumpsuit.

Anyway, after such a successful year at Cannes, I hope she continues to wows us and takes fashion risks like she always has in the past years.

P.S. Since Sonam and R&R are like fashion buddies now, I'm expecting many more R&R looks from her in the coming year.
