Yay or Nay : Sonam Kapoor in Elie Saab
Sonam Kapoor attended the Gala dinner for the Royals wearing Elie Saab couture.
Her white ensemble was from Elie Saab's Spring 2016 couture collection that too inspiration from India, and hence the drape detail.
The lehenga gown on the runway was breathtaking and while I love that Sonam chose to wear something from this collection, I think she was not able to do the gown justice.
For me, the runway look was so cool... With that sheerness and the collar and the subtle hair and make up. I get that Sonam wanted to Indian-ise the look but I guess she took it a little too far. The maang tikka with the updo and the potli bag... the look looked more Indian made and not Indian inspired.
I wish she had made it look cool with a modern elements and played with the juxtaposition of the Indian vs Western details.
