THIS 19 year old is making waves after starring in Rihanna’s Fenty Campaign

Indians are on a mission of global domination and it is a moment for all of us to take pride in. Be it in arts, sports, literature or science, we’re making sure that we leave our mark wherever we go. Well, in yet another “You go, girl!” moment, 19 year old Indian model, Naomi Janumala starred in Fenty’s all inclusive campaign. 

Rihanna is all set to launch her all inclusive clothing line and that is no news. The global pop icon’s campaign is making all the right noises and this time is no different. Naomi Janumala was born and brought up in Mumbai and started her modelling career three years ago. The young stunner has already starred in International fashion houses and brands like, Alexander Wang, H&M, Matthew Adams Dolan, American Eagle, Levi’s, to name a few. Naomi, in a conversation with Vogue, spoke in detail about her experience. 

She recalls the first time she met Rihanna, calling it a “serendipitous” experience. She stated that when she first met Riri, the two shared a warm hug and the first thing that she asked her was, “Where was she from?”. As per Naomi, as soon as she told her that she was from India, the “Love the Way You Lie” singer screamed in happiness that she wanted her!  “You’re so gorgeous, it’s annoying, I don’t even want to stand next to you! Ahhh!’” remembers Janumala, who was pleasantly surprised. “I can’t even believe it sometimes that she said all of that to me,” Rihanna stated in happiness. 

The 31 year old was ecstatic to have an Indian onboard because her collection borrowed inspiration from the classic Indian saree and jhumkas. Further on when she was asked about one unforgettable memory of hers from the shoot, she said. “I wish I could show you videos of how excited and dedicated she was while shooting. We clicked so well. Every time we got the shot, she would ask me, ‘Where have you been all my life?’ Everyone in the production team asked me if Rihanna and I had known each other before,” she said in immense joy. Well, it’s not everyday that you have an International icon like Rihanna loading you with heaps of praises. 

When quizzed about her favourite look from the Fenty all inclusive collection, she definitely had a favourite. The pretty belle, picked a mustard colour co-ord set to be her favourite. The outfit features a short strappy crop-top paired with a high waisted mini skirt with slits on both the side; finished off with a pair of shoes. The image in our head looks super chic, for sure! 

The model also spoke at length about her own personal style. She stated that she is quite flexible in that department. She can move from wearing basketball shorts to wide pants teaming it with a T-shirt and chains, to hot shorts and a cute crop top, to wearing men’s oversized shirts and joggers. Our lady here sure knows how to blend in any given avatar! She further on ended on a note revealing that if not a model, she’d be in a creative field like acting, interior designing or photography.
