Filmmaker Kiran Rao is the August cover girl for Elle India.
On the cover, she is wearing a salmon pink jacket dress with a grey shirt, both from Rajesh Pratap Singh's Spring Resort 2014 collection.
I love the cover. She looks so chic and powerful. Also, its so refreshing to see other women from the industry on the covers than your usual actresses and models. This collection by RPS was one of my favs, so I'm delighted to see a look from it on the cover of a magazine.
Kiran has assistant directed on films like Lagaan, Swades and Saathiya. Her first directorial venture was 'Dhobi Ghaat', which also starred her husband Aamir Khan. She has also worked as a producer on films like Delhi Belly and Peepli Live.
