Fashion gurus everywhere agree unanimously that no one can quite carry a saree like the legendary Sridevi. Whether it's the iconic blue monotone saree in Mr.India, the famous Yash Chopra chiffons in Chandni or the trend-setting pastel cottons of Sabyasachi in English Vinglish, Sridevi literally owns this outfit. No wonder our first female superstar dipped into her enviable saree collection again and again this year for important events and glitzy dos. 1. PADMA AWARDS: Hailed as India's First Female Superstar, Sridevi was honoured with the Padma Shri early this year for her sterling contribution to Indian cinema for the past 45 years. For this momentous occasion, the superstar chose a resplendent pink, gold and ivory silk saree created by her niece Maheshwari. Matching jewellery and fresh white gajra completed the traditional look.

2. SPIELBERG PARTY: Way back in 91, Steven Spielberg had approached Sridevi for a role in Jurassic Park. Being the topmost actress of Bollywood at that time, the star had a huge workload and the offer did not materialize. The two came together again this year when Spielberg visited Mumbai. Sridevi attended this elite party in a classy lime green saree topped with chunky diamonds.

3. NDTV AWARD: With Sridevi creating a record of sorts by becoming the only Hindi film actress to make a triumphant comeback with the global blockbuster English Vinglish, NDTV awarded her the Indian of the Year trophy for Entertainment category. The actress chose a delicate Sabyasachi creation for this event. The yellow and turquoise net saree had Kashmiri floral work and looked awesome on her.

4. INDIA TODAY AWARD: Thanks to her historic comeback with English Vinglish, more awards kept raining on the actress. India Today invited her for a special session titled 'Conversation with a Superstar' at the 2013 Women Summit and felicitated her with the Woman in Arts award. Sridevi dazzled us in a Anamika Khanna red drape with a printed blouse. This unconventional mix and match worked perfectly and those huge stone danglers proclaimed her the royalty of Bollywood.

5. CENTENARY MEDAL: After the Padma Shri, Sridevi bagged another Presidential honour in Chennai when she was felicitated with the Centenary Medal of Honour to celebrate 100 Years of Indian Cinema. Sharing the stage with President Pranab Mukherjee and Jayalalitha, Sridevi looked every inch an winner in a classy salmon pink ensemble with delicate gold work.

6. JAI MAHARASHTRA LAUNCH: At the Jai Maharashtra launch bash, Sridevi glowed in a peach and gold saree from Sabyasachi. The bun hair and bare minimum accessories worked well with the gorgeous creation as the actress let her luminous face do all the talking.

7. YASH CHOPRA MEMORIAL AWARD: After walking the ramp for Yash Chopra on his birthday, Sridevi attended yet another YRF event where Lata Mangeshkar was honoured with the first Yash Chopra Memorial award. The director's Chandni dazzled in white as she went traditional in an embroidered white creation. The flowers and glittery clutch complemented that divine look.
