Nachiket Barve Winter/Festive 2011 collection showcase the LFW
Ten seasons ago, Nachiket Barve was a fresh faced Gen Next designer at Lakme Fashion Week. Today, his clothes are seen on celebrities like Sophie Choudhary and Jaya Bachchan. “My muse is every woman who wears the clothes in her own way,” says the designer.
Nachiket’s latest offering is not a far cry from his usual fare – flirty and young. However, this season he has tried to create interpretations of kurtas, anarkalias and even saris which one can wear anywhere in the world.
“That’s the kind of global Indian look I’m trying to work at which at the same time looks distinctly Indian,” explains the designer.
Taking the season into account, Nachiket hopes that his collection will hit the stores within a month. The collection with its Indian inspired silhouettes is not going to a jacket heavy collection; instead “it’ll be a Indo-chic inspired collection which will add a new Indian take to what I’m doing and interpret for modern, younger woman who wants to wear to cocktails or wedding,” he divulges.
When it comes to palate the designer says to expect chili reds, spicy nutmegs and turmeric yellows, perfect for the fall.
Going by the designs and the success of the show, Nachiket Barve is definitely here to stay and the clientele will only increase after this. And rightly so!
