If you thought walking the red carpet was a piece of cake, then think again. Because it is a known fact that the ‘prep’ to walk the red carpet begins almost 3 months before the D day. Every single cellulite pucker, every curve, every freckle, every age spot will loom as large on screen as the camera zooms in on our celebrities who walk the red carpet.

Crash diets, botox, facials and pedicures take over the lives of our celebs. To say the least that their schedule is dictated by aestheticians is not far from the truth. But with a hair and makeup brigade and oodles of time and money to spend on getting flawless before the big day, it's no wonder they all end up looking simply gorgeous. Not a wrinkle or a freckle is visible, the curves are just right, the hair’s just perfect…but ask our celebs and they say, walking the red carpet is a nightmare. Yes, the thrill is there, but, when you are aware that a million eyes are tuned into every move and every step, it’s not such a great experience.

Sameera Reddy

I start my day with 20 minutes of yoga where I do stretching exercises that make the body supple. This is followed either by my Kathak riyaz or working out at the gym in the evening where I do circuit training or simply an hour of swimming.

Shahid Kapoor is on functional training these days. The actor has acquired a lean, athletic look for his upcoming film Kaminey. Shahid has been on a regime of deadlift, clean and press, squat, lunges, step-ups, presses, etc. He has also learned the basics of gymnastics — pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, farmers walk, and holds.

And our sexy sirens, Bips, Bebo and Shilpa are known to to veer towards Yoga.

Bipasha Basu does around 108 Suryanamaskar’s everyday, besides spending two hours, six days a week in the gym. She does a spinning class a week and also does the Bhujangasan.

Kareena Kapoor, a student of yoga guru Bharat Thakur does the artistic yoga, a programme implemented by Bharat that helps to relieve stress, weight loss, body toning, gastric relief, alleviates backache and increases energy. Shilpa Shetty has been performing yoga ever since she suffered from cervical spondylosis, which she developed during weight training.

Maliaka Arora Khan

“I try to go to the gym at least thrice a week for an hour-and-a-half. My form of exercising varies from kick-boxing to aerobics to hip-hop which ensures that I exercise different body parts each time.”

Kangana Ranaut

“I do yoga. I never miss out on Pranayam and medication. My guru is Suryanarayan. I do all these things as I sincerely believe a person should always be energetic. It’s not about controlling weight and inches to look good. 5 kgs here and there is fine. Your body cannot handle low energy, your work and inner being suffers. So keep a check on diet and nutrition.”
