Exclusive: A sneak peek at Masaba Lite for Chetan Bhagat

Here is a sneak peek to ace designer Masaba Gupta’s new collection Masaba Lite that is inspired by Chetan Bhagat’s upcoming novel “Half Girlfriend”.

Masaba Lite is a vibrant, young, peppy yet pocket friendly line for teenagers. It aims to cater to the needs of the young girls who want to experiment with their style in their "pocket money" phase.

Chetan is quite excited about the launch as Masaba was a test reader of his novel and it inspired her to come up with the new collection.

“Delighted to have inspired one of India's most talented designers. Can't wait to see the ‘Half Girlfriend’ collection. Had given Masaba the manuscript to read as a test reader for feedback and it inspired her enough to do this. Can't get a better compliment,” he said.

The designer also has saris in the new collection with the author’s signature on them.

“It was an honour to be a test reader for 'Half Girlfriend' and for the first time in India a book has inspired a designer for a collection. It is a limited edition and will be available across all stores on October 1st. The saris are special as they will have Chetan's signature, it will be a collector's item,” Masaba said.

The collection will be a limited edition available across all four Masaba stores in Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata. It comprises of scarves, totes, iPhone covers, saris, bookmarks and dresses and will be launched on October 1, along with Chetan's novel "Half Girlfriend".
