In july of 2009, Sania got engaged to her family friend's son Sohrab mirza. see first photo. She wore her mom's antique jadau mang tika and necklace.
The engagement was called off in 2010, and she went on to marry pakistani cricketer Shoib Malik . At all the ceremonies in india and pakistan, be it her engagent, reception, wedding in hyderabad or her valima in sialkot, she wore this mang tika which she had previously worn to her engagement with sohrab. She really seems to be emotionally attached to this piece.
Also does anyone think Shoaib kind of resembles Sohrab mirza?
