No one appreciates the chipped nails with half nail paint on them. They not only look bad but at times people also judge you on that basis. Well filed polished nails on the other end, add more to your personality and enhance the beauty of your hands. Good nails are not only photogenic, but they also add some glam to your outfits. If you are someone who loves to get your nails done frequently, then here are some tips that'll help your manicure last longer.

These tips will not only help you maintain the shine and polish of your nails but will also help you flaunt your manicured nails for a while.

Cotton balls and vinegar:

Use cotton balls and vinegar to wipe down your nails before applying the basecoat. It helps in removing all the extra product on the nails. It also helps with the natural oils on your nails that could create a barrier between the polish.

Two coats of base:

Application of two coats of base coat to the tips of your nail is essential since nail tips are more prone to chipping. And the application of an extra layer of basecoat to the top half of your nails gives extra polish resilience.

Roll your polish between your hands:

Before applying the polish, we tend to shake our nail paint up and down, which causes air bubbles. And if you paint air bubbles onto your nails, they'll chip faster. So rolling it between your hands is a better option.

Dry nails with cool air:

Usually we dry our nails with our dryer, but hot air keeps the polish from drying and hence if you still want to use your blow dryer, then use it on the fan setting. Alternatively, you can dip your nail in ice water for a minute or two, that also aids drying.

Use mild soap and say no to hand sanitizer:

Using hand sanitizer dries out your nails and ruins topcoat. So instead, use a mild soap to wash your hands. It helps the polish to last longer.

Use nail oil:

Application of nail oil daily can prevent your nails from drying out. The less moisture your nails have, the more likely they are to break and tear.

Use cotton swab:

If you chip or smudge polish from your nails then smooth it with a cotton swab dipped in polish remover. Otherwise, if you paint over it without smoothing it out, you'll get a bumpy nails.
