When it comes to using a face mask, we often think that DIY face masks are a fad and don't contribute much to the well-being of our skin. Well, sorry to prove you wrong, but this ain't true. Especially when it comes to overnight face masks, it's quite essential for your body. Overnight face masks are the ones that you apply right before going to bed and wash off only after you wake up. These masks not only heals your skin while you sleep, but it also boosts hydration and helps the skin repair itself by providing nourishing ingredients throughout the night.

Overnight face masks are easily available in the market, but not all of them are good and have the much-needed ingredients. If you are planning to use an overnight mask, then read below to find out how you can make these masks at home with all the natural and skin-friendly ingredients. 

Coconut oil face mask:

Coconut oils is a much-needed item if your skin is dry and irritated. Application of coconut oil on your face not only reduces transepidermal water loss, but it also calms your skin and reduces inflammation. Take a teaspoon of extra virgin or cold-pressed coconut oil and mix it with your night cream. Massage it on your face and wash it the next morning. If you don't use a night cream, you can apply the coconut oil directly on your face.

Turmeric and milk face mask:

Turmeric milk is not only used to combat cold and other ailments, but it also works wonders for the skin. It is packed with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, and helps reduce acne, and photoaging and improves skin health.  Take a half tsp of turmeric powder and mix it in 1 tbsp of raw milk. Use a cotton ball to apply it to your face and let it dry completely before going to bed.

Cucumber face mask:

Cucumber is not only great for your body but it also works great for your skin. It has a cooling effect on the skin and not only boosts skin hydration levels but also reduces inflammation, soothes sunburn and brightens your skin. Wash your face with a mild cleanser, then take the juice of half a cucumber and apply it with a cotton ball on your face. Let it sit overnight and wash it the next morning.

Green tea and potato face mask:

Green tea is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and helps with sunburn and suppresses oxidative stress. Potato juice, on the other end, is great for oily skin. It helps with rashes, reduces acne blemishes, and soothes the skin. In a bowl, take 1 tbsp of fresh and cool green tea and add 1 tsp of raw potato juice with it. Use a cotton ball to apply the mixture on your skin and leave it overnight.

Rosewater and chamomile mask:

Rosewater helps against acne-causing bacteria and has a soothing effect on your skin. Whereas the application of chamomile extracts has anti-inflammatory effects on the skin. Add 1 tsp of chamomile tea to 1 tbsp of rose water. Then add a pinch of turmeric and apply the mixture to your face with a cotton ball before going to sleep.

Use these masks at least twice a week for better results.
