When it comes to skincare, one natural ingredient which is found in almost every beauty product is Saffron. Saffron which is known as Kesar in Hindi is one of the most expensive spices in India. Saffron grown in Kashmir is often considered the best variety. Often known for its healing power, saffron is found in almost every Indian household. People use it in Biryanis, Kheers and other types of sweets. Not only the kitchen, but saffron is also used widely in the skincare routine.

If you are planning to add some natural ingredients to your skincare routine, then you should consider adding saffron. Here's how adding saffron to your skin routine will help you achieve a smooth and supple skin. It will not only maintain the balance of your skin but will also hydrate and moisturise your skin. You can use it as a pack or consume it with hot milk.

Treats acne:

The antifungal and antibacterial content of saffron makes it effective for the treatment of acne, blemished and blackheads. To get rid of acne, mix 5-6 basil leaves and 12 strands of saffron to make a fine paste. Apply it on the face and let it sit for 15 minutes. It will help you get rid of acne and pimples.

Heals wounds and scars:

Saffron is not rich in antibacterial property, but it also holds amazing healing properties that help in healing wounds and removing scars and spots for a blemish-free skin tone.

Improves complexion:

Saffron is often used as a key ingredient in skin lightening cosmetic products. Regular use of saffron will give you a healthy complexion. Take a few strands of saffron, add 2 tbsp of sandalwood powder along with rose water to make a paste. Apply on the skin for a better complexion.

Helps with a tan:

The cooling and skin lightening property of saffron makes it handy for skin tan removal. Applying saffron strands soaked in milk will fade away the tan making the skin even-toned.

Helps reduce pigmentation:

Saffron is an excellent ingredient for fighting pigmentation, brown spots and other skin blemishes. Soak a few strands of saffron in clean water. Add this to 2 tbsp of turmeric powder and make a paste. Apply it on your face to get rid of pigmentation and dark spots.

With Diwali round the corner, use Saffron for a radiant glow right away.
