Did you cut your hair too short at your last parlour appointment? Or does your hair grow extremely slowly? Whatever it is, nobody actually needs a reason to want long and flowy hair. Have silky smooth and long tresses been on your wishlist for a long time? Here are some tips and tricks doctors and stylists swear by, to improve hair growth.

Watch what you eat

It comes as no surprise that what you eat reflects on your appearance. A poor diet consisting of high cholesterol, fat an sugar can slow down or prevent hair growth completely and even end up making hair thin and brittle. Instead pick out protein rich foods like chicken, fish and veggies for healthier hair.

Don't pluck out grey hair

Yes, we know looking at that grey hair all the time can be annoying but that does't mean you go around plucking out the grey hair. Many times, once your hair has become healthy again, your hair might just turn a darker colour. And you can always opt to colour your greys if it annoys you so much. Plucking out hair just means that you have lesser hair.

Don't overwash your hair

Stop washing your hair everyday. Your hair is bound to become greasy in a couple of days after washing. Washing your hair everyday only means that you are stripping your hair of these natural oils. Washing your hair three times every week is the ideal number of times and you should not exceed this if you want long tresses.

Add essential vitamins to your diet

As previously mentioned, you need to have a balanced diet to ensure your hair is healthy, strong and grows fast. You can also include suppliments like biotin which is a vitamin that helps in hair growth, vitamin E and more into your diet.

Avoid essential oils

One in a while, these oils are good for the hair. Continuous oil application and washing it off will strip the hair of moisture and instead end up making it dry and fizzy, leading to hair loss and breakage.

Continuous styling

Continuously blow drying your hair and styling it with hot tools might make your hair look good but will damage it in the long run. The hair tends to become rough and fizzy and break faster.
