Step 1: Cleansing
Cleansing is the most important steps in getting a facial. It removes all the excess oil and dirt from the top layer of the skin, giving enough access to perform the next steps on the pores. All the oily skin people should remember that you need a cleanser that removes the excess oil and not strip the skin of all its oils. If you do not find one, you can always mix yoghurt and oats to prepare your natural cleanser. Just apply it on the face in a smooth layer. Then gently scrub the face in circular motions and remove it all with a cloth or a tissue. Once removed, wash the face with warm water and pat dry.

Step 2: Steaming
Now that you have a clean face, it is time to work on those pores. Steaming is the best way to effectively remove all the dirt and oil from the pores. Just start by taking a saucepan and fill it up with water. Add your favourite herbs like rosemary and thyme to it. You can also add essential oils like lavender and tea tree. Now, boil the water up for 6-8 minutes until it starts steaming. Once done, take the saucepan and keep your head over it at a distance. Cover your head with a towel and let the steam work its magic on your skin. This process opens up the pores making it ready to take in all the nutrients.

Step 3: Mask
Now that your pores are open, it is time to feed your skin all the essential nutrients. Clay-based masks work best for oily skin as it removes the excess oil while leaving it fresh and supple. You can either use oily skin masks that you get in stores or make one of your own.

Step 5: Moisturise
While oily skin is a result of excess oil, it is still important to moisturise the face. Usually, people think that only dry skins need moisturizers. It is important to use a water-based moisturiser so that it does not make the skin look greasy with any excess oil. It is very important to moisturise and you should never forget to do so.
