Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Sonam K Ahuja and more show how to take braided hair from boho to bold

Braids have always given off the school-girl look. The double plaits would be tied with ribbons while French braids were only created on special occasions and when one had the time. Now that we have all the liberty to do whatever we want with our hair and style it as we like, many of us still find ourselves going back to that hairstyle since it gives off the chic and sleek retro vibe. Now, braids have become extremely fashionable and boho. But our favourite A-listers show us how to make braids bold as well!

Styling it in the most desi way possible, in a simple braid that gave Janhvi Kapoor the best look complete to her deep red saree. A few lose strands ensured she looked like royalty. 

Taking the traditional braid one step above, we love how dainty Karisma Kapoor looked in her braid that had a lot more volume on the sides and was relatively lose at the back. It made her look regal with her ivory and gold saree. 

Giving the braids a boho twist, fashionista Sonam Kapoor added pretty flowers and leaves to it. Her hairstyle truly made her look like a whimsical goddess in the oversized flowy red multi-tiered dress. 

Braking away slowly from the traditional single braid, Janhvi Kapoor mixed it up and opted for two small braids on either side of her face, just to pull back her hair from her face while the rest of her locks were left lose. 

Taking cue from her, big sissy Sonam delved even more into the look to give it an edgy twist. She pulled her hair back into a sleek bun while braiding just a little of her front hair, to the sides. This hairstyle gave an edgy twist to her desi outfit. 

When Sonam does, the world follows. Taapsee Pannu was next in line to try her hand at the braided style and she aced the look. We love how she parted her hair in the centre and then pulled both the the sides back into braids of two layers. It looked pretty and matched her boho outfit as well!

Delving into the trend in her own way, Kriti Sanon parted her hair sideways. She left the side with a larger portion of her hair as is and braided the other side completely. 

For her third tryst with braids, Sonam K Ahuja killed it by braiding six small sections of her hair on top and pulling her long hair back into a bun. Right in the middle, she placed a maang tikka. This hairstyle paired with smokey eyes and a desi look, set new beauty and hair goals! 

Proving that braids can go with more than desi outfits, Sonakshi Sinha's braided hair made us all want to copy her style, put on some baggy clothes and show off our best hip hop moves! 

Everybody knows that Kareena Kapoor Khan is not one to openly experiment with her hair. But you know the trend is big when Bebo lets go of her inhibitions and sports a style. She gave us the boldest of the braided looks by sporting a sleek high ponytail and braiding the open hair to give a sleek yet chic look which isn't too complicated or difficult to achieve.
