Listed below are some super easy, quick and cost-effective home remedies that will keep our hair and skin intact and help us in celebrating a worry-free Holi!
Skin care tips
Lemon Wedges

If you have uneven patchy colour stains then you can rub some lemon wedges on it and the stain will get lightened.
Dry mango powder

If you’re getting annoyed with the colour stains then you can mix some dry mango powder (amchoor powder) with a few drops of water and scrub it on the affected areas.
Almond honey face mask

Due to the toxicants present in the colour, it usually leaves our skin very dry and if you’re dealing with that problem then this remedy is just the thing for you. Take one tablespoon of almond powder, one tablespoon of honey, two drops of lemon juice and one a few drops of milk. Make a paste of these ingredients and apply it evenly on your face. Wet your hands with water while taking off the scrub.
Masoor dal face pack

If you have oily skin then use this home remedy to get rid of the rigid colour and will also control your skin’s oiliness. Take one teaspoon of grinded masoor dal, dried orange peel, one tablespoon of rose water and two to three spoons of lemon juice. Apply the mixture evenly on your face and while taking it off, wet your hands so that it comes off easily.
Coconut oil or body cream

Make sure you oil your body head-to-toe as it’ll act as a protective layer and will also help the colour wash off from your body easily. The colour will come off even easier if you also apply oil on your body just before taking a bath. Always use cold water as it’ll help remove the colour quicker and easier.
Hair care tips
Fenugreek and curd hair pack

After you’re done playing Holi, do not immediately head for a bath; instead apply this super beneficial hair pack. Use soaked fenugreek seeds and four tablespoon of curd. Mix them together and apply the mixture on your hair. Keep it on for 15 minutes and wash it off with a mild herbal shampoo.
Vinegar and oil

Post Holi, our hair is left weaker and to impart strength, take tablespoon of vinegar and 3 tablespoon of oil. Mix it well together and apply it on your hair. Leave it on overnight or for a couple of hours and wash it off with a mild shampoo.
Lemon and oil

Those of you who have a major dandruff problem, squeeze half a lime in your preferred hair oil and apply this mixture a night before Holi. Braid or tie your hair up in a bun and cover it with a bandana or cap for better protection.
Lukewarm olive or coconut oil

The easiest hair care tip, take hair oil of your choice and heat it till it becomes lukewarm. Apply and massage it nicely in your scalps and lengths of your hair and this will act as a protective layer to your hair and the colour will slide off easily.
We really hope that these tips are helpful and that you have the best Holi ever!! Happy Holi!
