Our feet go through a lot. They take all the load and all the pain. We stand and walk and run all on our feet and our feet take the load for a very long time. They come in contact with numerous bacteria and germs and infections due to the shoes we wear or flats. They come in contact with loads of dirt and impurities. This is why our feet need some pampering and cleansing on a regular basis. They need to be soothed and relaxed and rejuvenated every now and then to keep them going. We also need to keep fungi and infections and bacteria away from our feet and prevent problems like athletes foot and any other fungal infection. In order to do so, we can turn to some basic foot soaks that help relieves foot pain and also kill bacteria at the same time. Soak your feet in these soaks once a day or once in two days or so to keep bacteria away and a good foot soak can give you instant relief when you have severe foot ache after a long day at work.

Here are some amazing foot soak recipes.

1. Boil some water with neem leaves and Epsom salt. Epsom salt helps cleanse your feet and remove excess moisture and it also soothes your muscles and relieves pain. Neem has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties. It kills bacteria and cleanses your feet. Soak your feet in warm water with neem and Epsom salt till it turns cold. Heat it up again if needed. Do this once in two days.

2. You can make a vinegar soak to prevent your feet from stinking and kill the bacteria. Vinegar makes it difficult for the bacteria to survive on your feet or breed. Soak your feet in one part of vinegar and 2 parts of warm water once a week for up to 30 minutes for the best results.

3. Take some baking soda and a lemon. Mix freshly squeezed lemon juice of 2 lemons and 2 tablespoons of baking soda in some warm water. Soak your feet in this water for up to 20 minutes. You can do this twice a week or as needed. Both lemon and baking soda have anti-fungal properties and helps remove impurities and dead skin cells and keeps your feet clean and free of bacteria.

4. You can make a foot soak with Listerine to cleanse your feet and remove dead skin cells. It also heals your feet and leaves them feeling fresh and clean. Add 2 cups of Listerine in half a bucket of water and mix it well. Soak your feet in it for up to 20 minutes. Do this once a week to rid your feet of germs and bacteria.

5. Take one whole ginger root and boil it in water. Put 5 tablespoons of tea leaves or tea powder in it. Let it come to a boil and then mix it with some warm water. Ensure that you mix it well and it isn't too hot. Soak your feet in this mixture for up to 30 minutes. The ginger kills bacteria and cleanses your feet while the tea nourishes your feet and improves the blood circulation.
