You may have to bleach your hair

If you are a brunette, there is a high possibility that for the colour to show, you will need to bleach your hair, for the colour you are aiming at is only visible on platinum blonde hair. for poppy shades like blues, pinks and purple, you are going to have to lighten your hair. If you have hair that is too dark, you might even need to bleach it multiple times.

Prepare to get colour everywhere

Once you have coloured your hair, it is advisable to refrain from wearing white or lighter shades of clothes for the colour is bound to leak form your hair on to the clothes and ruin them. The hair colour is meant to be permanent so it is going to be tough to get it off your clothes.

Upkeep will be hard on the pocket

Once your hair is bleached and coloured, it is upto you to maintain it. It will dry out and frizz up easily but will need to be gentle with it. You will need special products for coloured hair, ensure it is hydrated and moisturised at all times so it looks healthy, looks good and the colour stays on longer.

Wash your hair in cold water

The colour will fade eventually

While some colours may last months, with poppy shades like pinks, purples, blues and greens, it takes barely a month for the colour to fade to a dull blonde shade. Sometimes it will look terrible, but if you are lucky, you can carry it off as an ombre shade!

Your hair will get a lot of attention

While most will come up and compliment your hair, you are bound to run into people who are extremely judgemental and will pass laws remarks about your "character" or ask if you messed up the colour. Take this like your took the colour - with a pinch of salt!
