Easy DIY hair masks to treat dry, dull and frizzy hair

Dull, dry and frizzy hair can easily get damaged due to the excessive moisture in the hair. It is important to treat them with all the right ingredients in order to keep them nourished. Hair masks are a mix of all the ingredients that keep the hair nourished and help in treating damaged hair. It, in turn, moisturises the hair providing it with the much-needed hydration and restores lost moisture.

Here are some of the easy DIY hair masks that you can try at home.

MILK | HONEY

This is an ultra-conditioning hair mask that puts plenty of moisture back into stressed tresses. Milk is full of fat which helps in moisturising the hair and makes it soft. Honey, on the other hand, puts life back into dull and dry tresses while retaining the moisture. After washing the hair, your hair will retain it’s natural texture while being extra bouncy, soft and smooth.

USE: Mix half cup full-fat cream with a tablespoon of honey. Heat it on a low flame until both the ingredients are fully mixed. Spray it in your hair with a bottle and wrap it with a soft muslin cloth or a shower cap. Leave for around 20-30 minutes and rinse with cold water and let it dry naturally.

AVOCADO | COCONUT OIL |  BANANA

Banana is rich in potassium and natural oils that protect the elasticity of the hair and prevents split ends and breakage - it's a saviour for brittle, damaged hair. On the other hand, avocados are packed with vitamin B, which promotes hair growth and improves the strength of the hair. While the other two ingredients are doing its job, coconut oil locks the moisture in the hair by giving it the much-needed hydration.

USE: Smash one Avocado and ripe banana in a bowl. Add a few tablespoons of coconut oil to create a slightly runny paste. Apply to your scalp and hair and leave it on for about 15-20 minutes. Rinse it off and let it dry naturally.

STRAWBERRY | EGG YOLK | OLIVE OIL

Strawberries are rich in antioxidants that add moisture and shine to the hair. The egg yolk contains essential proteins that strengthen the dull and lifeless strands. Olive oil works as a great carrier as it moisturises the hair at the same time.

USE: Smash strawberries in a bowl and add one egg yolk to it. Whisk the mixture for about 30 seconds and then add olive oil. Mix it all weel and leave it in your hair for 20 minutes. Rinse the hair and let it dry naturally. Make sure you use the mask when you have time for a long, relaxing shower. The purée can be difficult to wash out with just one rinse.

Make sure you try these masks when you do not have to go out or attend an important event. They can be difficult to rinse, so make sure you have plenty of time in your hand.
