It becomes embarrassing and people start making conscious efforts to hide them. So, we’re here with some easy home remedies to get rid of the dark patches the knees and elbows which will also help you bring back the lost confidence.
1. VITAMIN E
This is the easiest home remedy that you can use to get rid of those ugly dark patches. All you need is Vitamin E capsules that you can find at any medical store near you and it won’t cost you more that Rs 25. Just puncture a few Vitamin E capsules and take all. The oil out of it. Once done add sugar to it and mix it thoroughly. now, use this as a scrub to exfoliate dark knees and elbows. Once done just rinse the area with water and moisturise it.

Vitamin E oil is a great remedy for skin pigmentation while sugar helps in exfoliating the dark skin making it easy for the oil to seep in.
2. GRAM FLOUR aka BESAN
Well, using besan for skincare is something you must’ve heard from your grandmothers. Just take a tablespoon of gram flour and mix it with yoghurt to form a thick paste. Apply it on the elbows and knees and leave it on until dry. Use circular motions to rub it off once dry. If needed you can also use a few drops of water to clean the area.

The gram flour exfoliates the area by removing all the dead skin cells. On the other hand, yoghurt helps in lightening the skin while leaving it moisturised.
3. POTATO
This hack may sound a little weird but potatoes work as a mild-bleaching agent on the skin which helps in lightening the skin colour and getting rid of dark, dull patches.

All you need to do is cut thin slices of raw potato and rub it over your elbows and knees. Leave the extracted potato juice on the dark patches for about 15 minutes and rinse it all off.
4. BAKING SODA | MILK
For this hack all you need is one teaspoon of baking soda and milk as required. Mix it in a bowl and add milk until it forms a thick paste. Scrub it on the dark patches for two to three minutes and rinse it off with water.

Baking soda helps in exfoliating all the dark patches and dry skin cells off the area whereas the lactic acid in milk helps in smoothing and moisturising.
