Who doesn’t like a good hairstyle? We love our hair and every now and then we love styling our hair and trying new looks and updos. Many of us women spend a lot of time combing or brushing or styling our hair daily in order to keep them in place and sometimes just for own comfort. Throwing up your hair in an updo is so much easier and make our lives heavenly. Especially if you have really long hair. As much as we love our hair they can also be a hassle and hairstyles just make it easier for us to handle our hair. Hairstyling tools like a blow drier or a curling or straightening or crimping iron can have a major impact on your hair but sometimes the hairstyle you pick can also damage your hair. If your hair has become weak and damaged try to figure out if the root cause of weak roots could be one of these hairstyles.

1. If you’re one of those girls who love a simple, good old ponytail then this is the culprit. Ponytails make out lives easier but it also makes hair damage easier. The hair tie that you use is tied tightly against your hair which causes your hair to get damaged at the shaft and break when you open your hair. Hair ties also force your hair to bend a certain way in a fixed shape.

2. Braids can also damage your hair big time. Whether it is multiple braids or a single straight braid, it does damage. Braiding requires you to pull and tug at your hair and tighten them up and tie them. All the pulling and tugging can weaken your hair at the roots and cause splitting and follicle damage. A tight braid can also weaken your hair at the roots and increase breakage drastically.

3. Any hairstyle done with wet hair can be damaging. Wet hair is weak and vulnerable. Tying your hair up or combing them or even using a hair tie can do a lot of damage to your hair and cause them to stretch and break.

4. Tying your hair up in a bun requires a lot of patience as well as a lot of pulling and tugging and pins. All those hairpins don’t come out without pulling out a few hair strands. The pulling and tugging and the thigh bun just like a braid cause a lot of damage and increase breakage.
