5 easy ways to achieve instant fairness at home

Nothing is worse than dull, lifeless skin when you have somewhere really important to go to. We all go through days when our skin feels clogged with all the dust and pollution resulting in dullness and skin darkening. The worst is when all of this dirt and sunlight results in uneven tanning and dark patches. But what if I told you that there are ways to reverse this?

And if you are just like us and always on the go, here are some simple home remedies to get instant fairness with ingredients right from your pantry.

Banana | Lemon | Honey

Mash 1 ripe banana in a bowl. Add 1 teaspoon of honey and lemon juice & blend all the ingredients together until you get a smooth mixture. Apply the banana mixture onto your rinsed skin and leave it on for about 15 minutes. Now, rinse it with lukewarm water and pat dry.

Banana contains potassium in abundance. They are also packed with vitamins A, B and E. These help even out rough skin while also lessening the appearance of dark spots and blemishes. As an addition to that, they also improve skin elasticity while lightening it and preventing ageing.

Baking Soda | Water

All you need is 2 tablespoons baking soda and 1-2 tablespoons water (you can adjust the quantity of water).  Mix baking soda and make a smooth paste. Apply the paste only on the affected areas. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes and then wash with cold water.

Baking soda neutralizes the pH level of your skin and gently exfoliates. It also removes the accumulated dirt and dead skin cells from the pores, revealing fair and healthy skin.

Gram Flour | Rose Water

We cannot stress enough on how effective gram flour aka Besan is for your skin. Combine 2 tablespoons gram flour and 4 tablespoons of rose water & combine the ingredients until you get a smooth mixture. Apply the mixture onto your skin as you would a face pack (ensure to avoid the delicate areas around your eyes and mouth). Leve it on for 15-20 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water.

Gram flour helps in extracting the excess oil from the skin while also maintaining its pH levels. It also removes the dirt from the clogged pores to leave your skin looking radiant and fair.

Tomato

Blend one ripe tomato to a puree consistency. Apply the tomato puree onto your rinsed skin as you would a face pack. Ensure to avoid the delicate areas around your eyes and mouth. Leave it on for around 20 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water. You can use it as often as every day.

Tomatoes contain vitamins A, B, and C. they are also rich in calcium, magnesium, and potassium. These minerals and vitamins help in hydrating the skin while healing the problematic areas and dark patches. The vitamins also prevent premature ageing and boost healthy cell production.

Ubtan

Ubtan can be used in various ways to attain that desired fair complexion and flawless skin. It is the oldest Indian face mask and is usually used on brides to obtain a healthy glow. All you need is 1 tablespoon of rice flour and gram flour (Besan). Mis it in a bowl and add 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and milk respectively. Combine the ingredients until you get a smooth mixture. Apply the mixture onto your skin and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Here comes the important part - after 20 minutes have passed, wet your hands and gently rub the dry mask on your face as you would a scrub. Rinse everything off with lukewarm water and pat dry.

The use of multiple ingredients in an Ubtan makes it an effective skin health boosting face pack.  It will not only help you with noticeable skin lightening but also take care of other issues like blackheads, whiteheads, dark spots, pigmentation, sunburn, etc.
