2 Easy home remedies to deal with split ends and dry tips without getting a hair cut

Depending upon the texture of your hair, it tends to form a feather-like tip by splitting the hair shafts. These are called split ends and they often tend to stop the growth of your hair, if you don’t take proper care of it. The golden question here is - why do we get split ends? It is when you stop or don’t take proper care of your hair. It usually occurs on dry undernourished hair where the natural oils from the scalp do not reach the tips. Excessive heat styling, sun exposure and hot water can end up worsening the condition. One of the best tips to keep in mind is to make sure your hair is moisturised well so that it does not end up splitting.
Egg Yolk
One of the best sources of protein, egg yolk is great even when applied topically. It gives your hair the required protein it needs, to elevate the remedy, you can even add your favourite kinds of oils to the mix. This will provide nourishment while also locking in the moisture to prevent dry ends.
All you need:
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon coconut oil
1 tablespoon olive oil

How to:
1. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl to create a smooth paste.
2. Start by applying it on the hair shafts and slowly moving upwards to the scalp.
3. Leave the hair pack on for 20 minutes and rinse with normal water.
4. Shampoo and condition your hair like you usually would.
Aloe Vera
Aloe vera has anti-bacterial properties that help in healing which makes it a perfect ingredient in dealing with dry and split ends. It also helps in clearing out the dry and dead cells from the scalp to promote hair growth.
All you need:
2 tablespoons of aloe vera gel
2 tablespoons of coconut oil
1 vitamin E capsule

How to:
1. Mix aloe gel and coconut oil in a bowl to create a smooth mixture.
2. Now, puncture a vitamin E capsule to extract the oils in the mix.
3. Apply it religiously on the lengths of the hair, moving upwards.
4. Leave it on for 40 minutes or overnight followed by your usual routine of shampoo and conditioning.
