The International Cricket Council (ICC) suspended the Zimbabwe cricket on Thursday, July 18 from participating in any ICC event due to the interference of government in its administration of cricket. The suspension also hindered the team’s men’s T20 World Cup participation in the event which will commence from October 2019. However, the Zimbabwe players expressed their disappointment on Twitter regarding this decision of the ICC and also mentioned that one such decision will affect the career of the entire team. Zimbabwe’s all-round cricketer, Solomon Mire also announced his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect.

All-rounder, Solomon Mire announced his retirement from international cricket and thanked Zimbabwe cricket in his recent Instagram post. He also tweeted as, “It has been a week of emotional highs and lows in sport and sadly not a good one for Zimbabwe Cricket but just wanted to officially address everyone else. I informed the players and tech staff of my decision at”.


Former skipper, Brendan Taylor also expressed his disappointment and tweeted as, “@ICC It's heartbreaking to hear your verdict and suspend cricket in Zimbabwe. The @ZimbabweSrc has no government back round yet our Chairman is an MP? Hundreds of honest people,players, support staff,ground staff totally devoted to ZC out of a job,just like that.”




Sikandar Raza also tweeted as, “How one decision has made a team , strangers
