Explosive West Indian cricketer, Chris Gayle has decided to retire from international cricket post the home series that the Windies will play in India during August-September. There was news of the 39-year-old batsman retiring post the World Cup earlier this month.

Speaking of his retirement, this West Indian cricketer said that it is not the end; there are still a few games left. He also mentioned that there may be another series to go as well. When asked about his plans after the World Cup, Gayle said that he may play a test match against India and will definitely play the ODI against the Men in Blue. He stated that he will not play the T20 matches.

West Indies media manager, Philip Spooner also confirmed Gayle’s retirement plans after the on-going World Cup tournament. Speaking to PTI, Spooner confirmed that, “Yes, Chris will play his last series against India.”

The series will consist of three T20 Internationals, three One Day Internationals and a few test matches between India and West Indies.

West Indies will currently encounter the Men in Blue today at 3 PM at Old Trafford cricket ground, Manchester. The team has been struggling throughout the tournament and have won just one game so far. Chris Gayle, with his explosive batting will look forward to register maximum wins in the remaining games of the tournament and create an impact in his last World Cup.
