WayV members KICK BACK fantasy for freedom in rhythmic new comeback; SM Ent announces stellar comeback lineup
WayV release their third mini-album Kick Back today with the eponymous title track. SM Entertainment announces major comebacks for the month of March and April.
It seems like artists under SM Entertainment are in a mood for some generous treat for fans today! Gen 2 supergroup, Super Junior released a fun teaser for their upcoming music video, House Party for their forthcoming album, The Renaissance. EXO's Baekhyun too released the teaser for his pastel, dreamy comeback in collaboration with NCT's Doyoung. So how could the label's hoobaes be left behind either? NCT's sub-group, WayV released their third mini-album Kick Back, with the lead single by the same name.
The music video begins with a cinematic colour gradient shot of an eye, with a wide-lens view, we see the members perform their dance as the music kicks in. Impeccably dressed, the members look stunning as they match steps to the foot-tapping rhythm. The visuals are illuminating and the colours are almost blinding to the human eye, yet when the rhythm kicks in, you cannot help but groove to it. It is quintessentially SM Entertainment, elaborate sets, extravagant visuals and foot-tapping music and oh so catchy! The hook step 'Kick Back' is addictive and the music is enjoyable. Lyrically it talks about how the members are willing to trade fantasy for freedom, both the objects of desire, that seem luxurious and unattainable in their own eyes.
