Watch Kim Hye Soo, Yeom Jung Ah, Jo In Sung & Park Jung Min in a star studded upcoming movie, Smuggler
Directed by the Crying First PD Ryu Seung Wan, the filming is intended to take place in June this year.
When the cast is this incredible, there’s no doubt that the movie would be too! According to Star News, Signal’s Kim Hye Soo, Sky Castle’s Yeom Jung Ah, What Happened in Bali’s Jo In Sung and the Bleak Night movie star, Park Jung Min will be sharing the big screen together for the new movie titled, Smuggler.
The movie has attracted many eyes both national and international, majorly because of the two lead roles being that of female characters. Kim Hye Soo and Yeom Jung Ah will be playing the role of top protagonists in the movie. The last two-female-lead movie in the South Korean industry was No Blood and Tears directed by Ryu Seung Wan himself, 20 years ago. This is not to say that Jo In Sung and Park Jung Min would have no big roles. They will also be the main characters of the movie.
According to Star News, the South Korean film industry is facing their own share of difficulties. From not finding investors to issues with filming. It also reports that it’s because around 100 commercial movies that were supposed to release did not generate enough revenue. Hence, investors are majorly looking at financing movies that will turn out to be a commercial success.
All eyes are on Smuggler for now as this is also the first time that actresses in the 50s are playing the two female-lead roles. In addition to that, there’s the ‘Veteran’ director’s proven (and incredible) ability to direct intense action movies like Battleship Island and Arahan that makes this movie worth waiting for!
