Former Indian opener, Virendra Sehwag criticised the team’s approach towards the spinners in the match against West Indies. The Virat Kohli led Men in Blue faced the same issue in their previous encounter against the Afghans where the entire batting line-up except skipper, Virat Kohli collapsed against the Afghan bowling.

Sehwag expressed his disappointment and tweeted as, “Rashid Khan had gone for 25 in 4 overs , gave away only 13 in his next 6 and today Fabian Allen had given 34 in 5 overs, only 18 in next 5. Can't be so defensive against the spinners.”

Except for skipper Virat Kohli, who registered his fourth consecutive half century in the tournament, the Indian batting line-up struggled against the Windies bowlers. MS Dhoni who smashed a half century was criticised and questioned for his slow start at the beginning of his innings. KL Rahul, however, provided the team a good and balanced start by scoring 48 runs of 64 deliveries. However, the team’s exceptional bowling helped them register a solid 125 runs victory against West Indies at Old Trafford cricket ground, Manchester.

The team also struggled against the exceptional Afghan bowling which included the likes of Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman on Saturday, June 22.

The Men in Blue will play its next match against England on Sunday, June 30 at Edgbaston cricket ground.
