Indian national selectors alongside skipper Virat Kohli are set to meet on Sunday at Mumbai to finalise India's squad for the upcoming West Indies tour, which starts from August 2. Earlier, BCCI delayed the announcement of the squad due to unknown reasons.

Selection meeting for the upcoming tour of West Indies to be held in Mumbai on July 21.” ANI tweeted earlier today.

The main talking point of the selection would be MS Dhoni. There are a lot of speculations about his place in the squad. Pertinently, the ever-discussed number 4 will also be an interesting part of this meet. There are also reports about some top players probably going to be rested for the tour, at least for limited-overs series.

“The selectors might consider resting some players for the limited-overs series because they have had no break in the last couple of months starting with IPL-12. But they will be aware of the fact that the World Test Championships begins will two Tests in the West Indies for India. Every Test win is important especially away from home. So it’s possible they will send a full-strength squad for the Test series,”  CricketNext quoted sources close to selectors as saying.

New faces like Shubman Gill, Navdeep Saina, etc might get a go if mainstream players were rested. The future of Dinesh Karthik also is something that might be looked at when the meeting gets underway at Mumbai on Sunday.
