Akshay Kumar recently paid a touching tribute to Amitabh Bachchan at the closing ceremony of the International Film Festival of India that was held at Goa.
He was all praises for the senior actor and even touched his feet on behalf of the fraternity. Amitabh Bachchan also tweeted, “A most humbling evening at the IFFI awards .. honoured and filled with such gratefulness to IFFI and the extremely endearing words by Akshay Kumar, Karan, and the dignitaries .. मेरा आभार , स्नेह."
“America has Batman, Spider-Man, Superman...but India and my superhero is our very own Angry Young Man, @SrBachchan Sir, rightly the Indian Personality of the Year ! #IFFI2017,” he had written on his twitter account. At the event, he also called Amitabh Bachchan the father of the industry and credited him for having learnt so much from him.
At the ceremony, Akshay Kumar shared a unique story about him, Amitabh Bachchan and Ranveer Singh. He said that when he was young he had traveled to Kashmir with his father. He saw Amit ji shooting there and promptly went to ask for an autograph. Next to Mr. Bachchan were some grapes which he wished to have. Amit ji, not only gave him an autograph but also gave him the grapes. Akshay gave an analogy saying that he has imbibed the sweetness of the grapes given by Amit ji. He then recounted another incident where a young boy was being pushed out of his film-sets. He then called the kid and signed an autograph for him. The kid was none other than Ranveer Singh.
