Ranveer Singh has started prepping for Gully Boy.
Ranveer Singh has started prepping for Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. The movie will also star Alia Bhatt in the lead role.
Today, the actor posted a video on Instagram, where he is preparing to play a street rapper. He is seen rapping and taking lessons for the same. Ranveer is looking handsome in a black cap, tee, and trousers. He captioned the video as, ‘’#gullyboy.’’

Furthermore, Ranveer and Alia will start shooting for Gully Boy from January 2018.
A source told a leading daily, "Ranveer is keen to move on. He has already committed dates to Zoya for the film, and hence can’t let everything wait. He has already been told to not do media interviews for Padmavati before the release. And after the indefinite postponement of the movie, he cannot let other films, including Gully Boy, suffer, because he’s a thorough professional. The Padmavati shoot already meant that Gully Boy’s pre-production work was under stress. And this postponement will not let it be hampered further. Thankfully, everyone in the film industry — including Zoya — understands how Sanjay Leela Bhansali works. So they have given Ranveer a lot more space."
Gully Boy is inspired by the lives of two rappers Vivian Fernandes aka Divine and Naved Shaikh aka Naezy. Talking about Ranveer, Divine had said, "He's a cool guy and already dresses like a rapper so he needs no tips in the fashion department from me. It is one thing to get audiences to wake up and listen to our kind of music, which is not about girls, gold, and drugs but about real life in Mumbai. But it is an even greater thing when mainstream actors like Ranveer chose to beaGully Boy. He's now a part of our movement."
