Ranbir Kapoor was spotted at RK Studios' Ganpati Visarjan and was a part of the festivities. Before he left, the actor waved back at his fans, who chanted 'Munna Bhai' at the Sanju star.
Today is a sombre day for the Kapoor Khandaan as their 70-year-old tradition of celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi at RK Studios is in its finality. The iconic studio which is in Chembur, Mumbai is on sale now because of the damages caused by the 2017 fire as well as the incurring losses because of fewer bookings. Ranbir Kapoor took time out of his busy schedule and made sure to be a part of the festivities, one last time, along with dad Rishi Kapoor and uncles Randhir Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor.
For RK Studios' Ganpati Visarjan today, Ranbir kept it simple in a white shirt which he paired with torn blue jeans, monochrome shoes and black sunglasses. The actor was emotional as he was not only bidding adieu to Bappa but in a way, the actor was saying goodbye to RK Studios, his grandfather and legendary actor Raj Kapoor's baby, as well. After breaking the nariyal, which is a part of the tradition, Ranbir went to his car but not before waving at the throngs of fans, who were in attendance.
What's interesting to note is that the fans starting chanting 'Munna Bhai' at Ranbir, given that the actor played Sanjay Dutt in his last movie, Sanju. Watch the video of the fans screaming 'Munna Bhai' as Ranbir waves back at them:
This is indeed an emotional day for the Kapoor family and they did celebrate Ganesh Utsav, one last time in classic Kapoor dhoom-dham.
Meanwhile, Ranbir will next be seen in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra opposite Alia Bhatt. Brahmastra is slated to release on Independence Day 2019 i.e. August 15, 2019.
