Aamir Khan is one actor who has made entertaining films with a social message. He is an actor with social conscience and his films always deal with an important cause. Aamir highlighted the need to fight patriarchy with Dangal whereas with his next, Secret Superstar he will be seen championing the cause of women empowerment.
About the film, Aamir had said, “Both Dangal and this film are based on the same topic... That we look differently at our daughters. And probably we aren’t able to give the same treatment to our daughters as our sons. So, Secret Superstar is another film based on empowerment of the girl child”
Aamir will be seen in a very different avatar in this film. He also said that wife Kiran Rao didn’t want him to do the film as his role is very ‘creepy’.
Aamir had said, “When I heard the story, I really liked it. When Advait (director Advait Chandan) asked me to do this role, I said I cannot see myself doing it. Even Kiran said the same. I said I'll do a screen test and if I do well, I'll take up the role. While doing it, I realised I was having fun." Kiran Rao added, "When we saw the screen test, all of us laughed so much. We were totally convinced that he can be this strange creepy person. He did it so well that we had to believe. But he wasn't the original fit."
Secret Superstar is making all the right noises. There is a lot of buzz around the film that stars Aamir’s co-star from Dangal, Zaira Wasim in a pivotal role. Aamir will be playing the role of a creepy music producer. The first song from the film was released a few days ago. Titled Main Kaun Hoon, the song is sung by Meghna Mishra and is composed by Amit Trivedi. Check out the behind the scenes video of the making of the song!
