Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor cremated with state honors.
Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor passed away yesterday. He had gone through bypass surgery a few months back and had been admitted to the hospital due to chest infection.
The film industry condoled the death of the legendary star by posting heartwarming messages on their social media account. After the news came out, Kapoor family members rushed to Shashi Kapoor’s house. Saif Ali Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukerji were spotted at his residence yesterday.
At the funeral today, Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan were seen. In a touching video, Shah Rukh can be seen comforting Rajiv Kapoor. Amitabh Bachchan can be seen comforting an emotional Sanjana Kapoor and Kunal Kapoor. Saif Ali Khan and Abhishek Bachchan are also seen talking to the bereaved Kapoor family.
Mumbai police honoured Shashi Kapoor by wrapping him in the tricolour and hosted a salute ceremony which included a moment of silence followed by a performance by the Police Company Band. He was given a three-gun salute by the Mumbai police for his last rites at the Santacruz Hindu Crematorium today.
Shashi Kapoor’s best performances include films like Mehndi Lagi Mere Haath, Kabhi Kabhie, New Delhi Times, Roti Kapda Aur Makan, Heeralal Pannalal, Deewar, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, Raja Saab, Pighalta Aasman and many others. He has also acted in several English films such as The Householder, Bombay Talkie, Heat and Dust and many others. Kapoor was India's first actor to go international and work in English movies.
