After a lot of protests and controversies, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus Padmaavat starring Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone finally hit the screens on 25th January, 2018.

The film is currently basking in praise and has already crossed Rs 100 crore mark in just 4 days. Apart from it being a commercial success, the movie has been lauded for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s grand vision and detailed characters.

Not only India, Padmaavat has also been receiving support and adulation from people residing in foreign countries. Today, we got our hands on a video, where close to 100 Indian American women, dressed up in colorful traditional attire and beautiful jewelry were seen grooving to the tunes of ‘Ghoomar’ in California. Soon after, they were also seen singing the same song.

Deepika Padukone also shared a video posted by The National Basketball Association (NBA), where American cheerleaders can be seen showing off some amazing dance moves on the song, Ghoomar. They looked extremely adorable in a purple lehenga and were seen twirling with coordinated hand movements and footwork just like Deepika. The actress captioned the video saying, ''Revisit the mesmerising moment when the sights and sounds of Ghoomar from Padmaavat took over Charlotte!''

Meanwhile, talking about the filming of Ghoomar song, Deepika had earlier revealed,  "I think the toughest part of this song is the fact... As you all have seen the song, we did the steps keeping in mind the minute details -- the hip movement and the hand movement. They are not traditionally seen. They are not big, loud steps... It is very fragile and delicate, but at the same time emoting or connecting with the audience... That was really difficult experience for me."

"This folk dance was actually the first time I went to sets as Padmavati, and this is the very first thing we shot. It was really difficult for me because I was just getting to understand the character which I am playing -- what is the character, who is she, how she dances and looks, what would be her body language and mannerisms.I was straight away thrown into this song, so it was very challenging for me, ‘’ she had added.

Talking about the film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali recently said, ''I really don’t know how I got through this period. But after all of this, to have the film release finally in spite of all odds, and most importantly, to have audiences flocking to see it in spite of the threats… I can’t tell you what a relief and joy it is. Just hearing about the collections washes away all my pain of the last 8-9 months… well, maybe not all of it.''
