Varun Dhawan's birthday gift for dad David Dhawan has a Sui Dhaaga touch to it
As a birthday gift for his father and filmmaker David Dhawan, Varun Dhawan took to his tailoring skills from Sui Dhaaga, to stitch a shirt for him. Varun shared the making process of the colourful shirt on his Instagram page.
Varun Dhawan plays the role of Mauji, a tailor in his next titled Sui Dhaaga: Made in India. The movie also stars Anushka Sharma and is directed by Sharat Katariya. For several months, the actor trained rigorously in the intricate processes of cutting and stitching fabrics. Varun's father and filmmaker David Dhawan recently celebrated his birthday and as a gift, the handsome lad put his tailoring skills to use. Varun gifted David a self-sewn shirt as he chose a colourful, summery fabric to match with David Dhawan's personality.
A proud Varun gushed, "I am not quite as good as trained tailors, but I have picked up some tailoring while making Sui Dhaaga. My dad thinks I am still a Kaccha Dhaaga (raw and young), but this will prove to him that I am not so raw anymore!" David was ecstatic when he got Varun 's gift. Varun took to his Instagram page to post the making process of the shirt and also shared pictures of his dad wearing the shirt proudly.
Varun's caption reads as, "Papa dekho tumhara beta #SuiDhaaga mein maahir ho gaya! ये श से शर्ट .. पापा को बड्डे का ऊपहार .. बाक़ी बप्पा और पप्पा की वजह से .. सब बढ़िया है."
That is indeed a very sweet gesture by Varun! Wouldn't you agree?!
Meanwhile, Varun and brother Rohit Dhawan also gifted their parents with a customised staycation at a posh five-star hotel in Mumbai. They also hosted a private dinner for them and celebrated with their immediate family.
Sui Dhaaga: Made in India is slated to release on September 28, 2018.
