Varun Dhawan promotes Salman Khan's song Selfish from Race 3 in his own way
The song, Selfish, is already out and has been penned by Salman Khan. Varun Dhawan took to his Insta story to promote the song in his own way.
Salman Khan has sung songs before, but his upcoming film Race 3 marks his first time as a lyricist. The song, Selfish, is already out and has been penned by the superstar himself. Varun Dhawan took to his Insta story to promote the song in his own way. He is seen singing the song on his way to the shoot.
Talking about the song, Salman said in a statement, "While discussing the creative for the song, I penned down a few thoughts on paper in sync with the plot of the film, which is about the selfishness within the family. When the music director Vishal Mishra heard it, he got extremely excited and said he will come back with a tune for the same. I said, 'But this is a part of a conversation and not lyrics'."
"However, he insisted to use the thoughts as it is for the song. Everyone loved the thoughts and wanted it to be used for the song," added Salman.
Meanwhile, regarding Selfish, the Race 3 team was looking for a song and when Salman shared his song, they loved it and hence Salman gifted it to them. While the music for the song was composed by Vishal Mishra, Atif Aslam crooned the romantic number. As for the female vocals, it is Iulia who sung with Atif to Salman's song which was shot in Abu Dhabi recently.
While Atif recorded his portions in Dubai, Iulia recorded her part in Mumbai. A source close to the development revealed to Mumbai Mirror, "It was on Salman’s suggestion that she was brought on board. The team was looking for a female voice who fit the bill and he thought Iulia was perfect for the vocals."
Directed by Remo D'Souza, Race 3 is slated to release on June 15, 2018.
