Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma bring out the Kutchi essence of Sui Dhaga: Made in India
Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma talk about the Rabari form of art that's popular in Gujarat's Kutch. The duo will be seen together in Sui Dhaaga: Made in India.
Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma will be seen together in the film Sui Dhaaga: Made in India. The actors recently launched the trailer of Sui Dhaaga at Mumbai's YRF studio. In Sui Dhaaga, Varun and Anushka's characters names are Mauji and Mamta, respectively. They will be seen as husband-wife in the film. Sui Dhaaga is a story of Mauji and Mamta's self-dependent, self-reliance and how they make it big in the business and art of tailoring. It's a hope for a common man that with hard work, determination and faith, they can achieve big dreams and bring a huge change in their lives.
Even before the trailer, Anushka and Varun shared a video wherein they revealed the film's logo. To get a perfect and beautiful logo for their film, the team of Sui Dhaaga visited 40 villages in the country and got to know about different arts and methods of tailoring and sewing clothes and materials. Today, the makers dropped a new video in which the lead actors of the film show us a tribal group in Kutch and their art. The women and housewives in Kutch weave beautiful clothes, bags, and crafts material. Their artwork is called Rabari which is popular for embroidery, sculpture and beadwork. In the video, a woman named Pabiben talks about the Rabari art and how she manages the business herself. Her husband also is very supportive and it was his idea that she should start her own business.
Pabiben has encouraged a lot of women in the village to learn this art and earn good money. She also has her own website where she sells all the materials and handicrafts.
